The Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation (SCAF), together with many community service organizations, businesses and local families, are offering over 100 community scholarships to the class of 2010. Any student who resides within the Stanwood-Camano School District, including home-schooled students and those who attend private schools outside of the area, are eligible for these scholarships. Artist Matthew Waddington’s “female back study” in pastel and charcoal will be one of the works by 108 artists from across North America whose work to be seen at “Unclad – The Fine Art of the Figure,” at Gallery by the Bay, 8700 271st NW, Stanwood. The show opens Saturday, March 13, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with an all-day celebration featuring live music, refreshments, and a chance to meet the artists. Admission is free and all artwork is for sale. The members of Stanwood High School’s National English Honors Society invite the Stanwood-Camano community to donate used books for a spring book sale to benefit the American Red Cross for Haitian relief. Consignment sale benefits MOPS
A MOPS (Mothers of PreSchoolers) consignment sale is Fri, March 19, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sat, March 20, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Warm Beach Free Methodist Church, 20815 Marine Dr south of Stanwood, across from Warm Beach Christian Camp. Baby and children’s clothing, maternity clothing, strollers, baby equipment, high chairs, children’s furniture, toys, etc. Percentage of sales will benefit MOPS groups in the Cedarhome and Warm Beach area.
Women’s History Month noted
Friends of the Stanwood Camano Library meeting is Tues, March 9, 11 a.m., everyone is welcome to attend. This month, the friends will celebrate Women’s History Month with a special program entitled “You Forgot Your Skirt, Amelia Bloomer,” presented by Ann Fredell.
Support group of mental illness meets

Health of Lake Goodwin
Snohomish County Surface Water Management is seeking a volunteer to collect water quality samples and record data for Lake Goodwin. All training and equipment is provided – volunteers only need to have boat access and commit a few hours each month from May through October. Benefit auction for cooperative preschool
“Past, Present and Future” is the theme of the Stanwood Cooperative Preschool’s benefit auction Sat, March 13, 6 p.m., in the Bonnie Cole Youth Hall at the Stanwood Fairgrounds.
