SIV MYHRE

Our mom, Siv Myhre, went to Heaven on February 24, 2010, after a long, sad battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She was born Siv Margot Didriksson, the youngest of five children, to Per and Ingaborg in the northern province of Jamptland, Sweden.

As a young women she moved to Stockholm where she met and married her first husband, Mario, with whom she had Angela. The three of them immigrated to Seattle.

In 1970 she married George Myhre and they had Lisa. In 1977 they built a beautiful home on Camano Island where they lived until their retirement. In 1995 they moved to Arizona and built another beautiful home in Surprise where she lived until George’s death in 2006.

Siv came back to the Stanwood/Camano area to have the love and support of her daughters and their families for the last four years of her life.

She loved spending time with close friends and family.

She was a forerunner of Martha Stewart although she was much too modest to admit it. She loved to garden and sew and whether her home was an apartment or a custom built home it was always a home to be proud of.

She loved opera and classical music and the joy music brought her was intensified in her last several years when she was unable to enjoy or participate in much of anything else due to Alzheimer’s.

She is survived by her daughters, Angela Mc- Clurken and Lisa Dean (Clay), and five grandchildren: Megan, Sean and Alix McClurken, and Mimi and Paisley Dean. She leaves behind many long-time friends, but Aase Moe was like a sister and stood by her side through the roughest of times.

A memorial is scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13 at Camano Chapel.
