A 55-year-old Camano man was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett – Colby Campus, after rolling his 2001 Ford Windstar last Tuesday night.
The man, who was driving alone, hit a stonewall at the entrance to a driveway near the intersection of SR 532 and Heichel Road at 11:47 p.m.
Sergeant Brian Legasse said an Island County Sheriff’s deputy witnessed the crash and turned the investigation over to Washington State Patrol (WSP).
Trooper Keith Leary, spokesman for WSP, said original reports stated the man ejected from the vehicle, but were later amended to say he was cut out of the wreck and transported with non-life threatening injuries.
Evidence showed the driver was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, and was arrested in connection with those charges, Leary said.
The report indicates the owner of the wall wasn’t home at the time of the accident, and that a trooper would contact the owner at a later date.
