Harris-Moore is now the prime suspect of a stolen Cirrus SR22 plane stolen from Anacortes Airport that was flown to Orcas Island Wednesday night about 11:30 p.m. It was discovered parked in the mud the next morning alongside an airstrip at Eastsound Airport. Full Story

Two local teams back from Haiti
The Camano Chapel medical mission team, which left for Haiti on Jan. 25, has returned stateside. So has a dental team, gone from Feb. 1-10.
Don Turner, organizer of the medical team, said the group arrived in Cap-Haitian to find more or less what they expected. Full Story
Community scholarship deadline is March 12
Any student who lives in the Stanwood-Camano School District, including home-schooled students and those who attend private schools outside of the area, are eligible for scholarships offered by the Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation (SCAF), which is supported by many community service organizations, businesses and local families. North County Fire/EMS receives clean audit
North County Fire/EMS received a clean financial audit report for 2008.
The audit is part of a regular review of the fire authority’s finances and financial practices by the Washington State Auditor’s Office every two years. Full Story

Camano man rolls vehicle, transported to hospital
A 55-year-old Camano man was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett – Colby Campus, after rolling his 2001 Ford Windstar last Tuesday night.
The man, who was driving alone, hit a stonewall at the entrance to a driveway near the intersection of SR 532 and Heichel Road at 11:47 p.m. Full Story

Railway safety exercise involves local agencies
Motorists on SR 532, Florence Road and Cedarhome Drive will see a large number of fire and EMS vehicles and a lot of activity in the area east of the Amtrak platform March 13 and 14 when Stanwood Camano Fire and Stanwood Police departments will be working with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway and Amtrak on several training events.
