WSP seeks witnesses of two collisions

The Washington State Patrol Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating two serious injury collisions involving commercial vehicles that occurred in Snohomish County recently.

The first crash occurred at 9:55 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4 in the northbound lanes of I-5 just north of the 88th Street overpass. The collision involved two tractor/ trailer rigs and two passenger vehicles.

The other crash occured Tuesday, Feb. 9 when a dump truck collided with a passenger car on eastbound SR 522 just east of SR 9 injuring three occupants of the passenger car, one of them critically.

Preliminary investigation shows the car may have been stopped for an unknown reason in the slow vehicle lane when it was struck from behind by the dump truck.
