Taste of Camano set for Feb. 27

Tastes for a varied palate. Tastes for a varied palate. C.A.R.E. (Camano Action for a Rural Environment) will have its second annual fundraiser, “A Taste of Camano,” on Saturday, Feb. 27, 6- 9 p.m., at Camano Community Center, 606 Arrowhead Road.

There will be various tastings that include wine, artisan cheeses and shellfish from local waters. The event will feature music, an auction and the talents of several chefs, including Camano Island Waterfront Inn’s chef Greg McCammond, who will share culinary skills, along with winemakers and cheese makers.

the continuation of C.A.R.E.’s efforts.

Other participating local chefs and restaurateurs include Suzie Jonas of Suzie’s Place, Jasmin’s Thai Cuisine, the Chatterbox, La Hacienda, Westside Pizza, Camano Culinary Creations, and Angel of the Winds Watershed Restaurant.

Local guitarist Michael Gotz will provide original music. An auction will feature locally grown orchids from Out on a Limb orchids, seakayaking, guided-bird watching followed by brunch, original art by Susan Cohen Thompson and Marc Boutte, one night in a deluxe suite from Tulalip Resort and Spa, and a special dessert auction.
