NOAH hosts AHA training
A two-day basic animal emergency services training course will be offered by the American Humane Asso- ciation on Feb. 27 and 28, for the north Puget Sound community.
Anyone interested in rescuing and caring for animals during and after a disaster is encouraged to attend.
Each year, thousands of animals are affected when disasters strike. Hurricanes, fires, tornadoes, flooding and earthquakes all dramatically impact people’s lives and the lives of the animals that rely on them. American Humane’s Basic Animal Emergency Services training teaches volunteers and animal welfare professionals how to manage large and small animals in a disaster. Topics covered in this training include emergency response, animal first-aid techniques, coordinating emergency animal shelters, personal safety and media relations.
This training is a person’s first step toward becoming a volunteer in American Humane’s Red Star Animal Emergency Services national network of responders.
The training will be offered at The NOAH Center, 31300 Brandstrom Road in Stanwood 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Feb. 27 and 28.
