(Camano Action for a Rural Environment) will have its second annual fundraiser, “A Taste of Camano,” on Saturday, Feb. 27, 6-9 p.m., at Camano Community Center, 606 Arrowhead Road.

There will be various tastings that include wine, artisan cheeses and shellfish from local waters. The event will feature music, an auction and the talents of several chefs, including Camano Island Waterfront Inn’s chef Greg McCammond, who will share culinary skills, along with winemakers and cheese makers.

Proceeds will benefit the continuation of C.A.R.E.’s efforts.

Camano Action for a Rural Environment is a 501C3 nonprofit all volunteer organization, founded in 1997.

C.A.R.E. projects have included protection of Camano’s sole source aquifer, promotion of responsible land use, stewardship and preservation of the island’s natural habitat.
