Gymnast places third in nation

Jillian Ohlemeir Jillian Ohlemeir Port Susan Middle School seventh-grade student, Jillian Ohlemeir placed third in the nation in her 13-year-old age group and helped the Washington state team to an overall third place finish at the National Gymnastics Judges Cup on Jan. 9. Ohlemeir competed in the uneven bars (9th), balance beam (4th), floor exercise (5th), and vault (1st). Sixteen states participated at this competition.

On the night before the national competition, the young gymnast competed in a pre-nationals meet and placed first overall in her age group. She competed in the uneven bars (1st), balance beam (2nd), floor exercise (1st), and vault (1st). She competes with the Leading Edge Gymnastic Academy Team in Everett.
