Spelling bee goes multiple rounds at Elger Bay school

Gymnast places third in nation
Port Susan Middle School seventh-grade student, Jillian Ohlemeir placed third in the nation in her 13-year-old age group and helped the Washington state team to an overall third place finish at the National Gymnastics Judges Cup on Jan. 9. Ohlemeir competed in the uneven bars (9th), balance beam (4th), floor exercise (5th), and vault (1st). Sixteen states participated at this competition. Full Story

Photographer of the Year scholarship
The Professional Photographers of Washington has announced that applications are available for the 2010 Student Photographer of the Year Award, which is open to all high school seniors in Washington state, graduating in the year 2010.
The winning student will receive a $2,000 scholarship grant to be used to further the winner’s study in the photographic arts. Full Story
