Island County GOP precinct caucus

Camano Island Republicans will gather at Lost Lake Clubhouse, 1469 Lake Dr. Feb. 13, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to develop planks for the Island County Republican Party platform and elect delegates to county convention. All Republicans, and those who support the Republican candidates and principles, are invited. Each attendee who wishes to promote a plank, or nominate themselves or someone else as a delegate, must sign a pledge that they consider themselves to be a Republican. Bring your voter registration card and proof of residency, and a driver’s license, it will make registration shorter and smoother. Observers may attend and watch but may not participate in the business of the caucus. Students and teachers are welcome. For more information, contact Linda Sturza, sturza@tgi.net.

E mergency preparedness open house

An open house including free classes and handouts answering your questions on emergency preparedness, will be held Sat, Jan. 30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints building, 745 Ell Street on Camano Island, 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Classes include food storage basics, 72-hour emergency kits and wheat cooking basics. Fire chief to give station progress

The Madrona Fire Sirens will meet Wed, Feb. 3 at noon in the Madrona Fire Station, 916 W. Fifth Ave. at Tarragon. Chief Mike Ganz will give an update about the progress on the new Madrona Fire Station. Dessert and coffee/tea will be served. An invitation to all women in the district is extended to come see what the Sirens are all about.

Baha’is host holistic health counselor

The Baha’is of Camano Island invite the public to a talk, “Seeking connection with the Divine” by Holistic Health Counselor Elham Simmons of Seattle. New Sunday bingo at legion

Beginning Sun, Feb. 14, American Legion Post 207 will host Sunday bingo at 1 p.m. Jackpots will carry over from Saturday night bingo, which will be at 6 p.m. Address is 608 W. Camano. For information, call LeRoy, 387-5420.

Pancake breakfast hosted by Grange

Jan. 30 is the date for the pancake breakfast at South Camano Grand, open to the public. All the pancakes you can eat, plus French toast, scrambled eggs and ham, coffee and orange juice, 8 to 11 a.m. For more information and/or directions, call Pat, 629- 3276.

FOCIP work party at senior center

Friends of Camano Island Parks will have a work party Tues, Feb. 2, at the Camano Senior and Community Center. Meet at the senior center 9:30 a.m. We will be adding mulch to the trail. Builders to have dinner meeting
