PEtER ALDEN EKREM

OCt. 25, 1928 – DEC. 26, 2009

On Dec. 26, 2009 at Casa Grande Hospital, we said goodbye to a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, after a short illness.

Preceded in death by his parents, his late wife, Donna (Moffett) Ekrem, two brothers, Royal and Norvin Ekrem, and two sisters, Helene Smock and Shirla Fluke.

He leaves behind his wife Marilyn (Adams) Ekrem, daughter Kiirn Ekrem (sonin law Merle Smith) of Auburn and Paula Stark (son-in-law David Stark) of Anacortes, step-son David Waddell (daughter-in-law Valerie Waddell) of Buxton, Maine, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Peter was born in Mobridge, SD, and moved to Stanwood, at an early age. He became best friends with his longtime pal, Dick Anderson, and they remained best friends for life. Dick and his wife Laurie live in Seattle.

He attended school in Conway and Mount Vernon. He served in the U.S. Navy, and got his degree as an aeronautical engineer from the University of Washington. He used that knowledge in his employment with Boeing in Seattle, retiring after 38 years.

Peter received a letter from the Masonic Lodge in Des Moines, Lodge 245, stating that on Dec. 10, 2009, he had achieved at least 50 years in Masonry.

Peter will be missed by his friends and family from Caliente, Florence Gardens, and the First Presbyterian Church, in Florence.

The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Florence, Ariz.
