New name

Rename the bridge Cam-Wood

Dear Editor:

I question if tax dollars were to be spent on renaming the General Mark Clark Bridge, who would decide?

I love reading books on nurses in the military during wartime.

General Mark Clark’s name was mentioned a lot, for both good and bad decisions.

It was a time of war and I cannot and will not judge him.

Politicians come and go; they also can be said to make good and bad decisions.

Hopefully, after all the tax dollars spent for our new bridge it will last a long, long time. We need a name that will not lose favor in the future.

Who has the right to change the name?

Personally, I would not want the name of a politician or elected official. We have many wonderful heroes from our area.

Since it is the only connection between Camano Island and Stanwood, I suggest Cam-Wood Bridge.

Lets make this important decision a committee endeavor.
