Community Transit proposes service changes
Stanwood to Boeing route eliminated
James Moran of Camano Island has been riding Community Transit’s bus no. 247 to Boeing for the past five years. He said it saved him about $3,500 last year.
Three routes take approximately 150 riders from Stanwood to Everett’s Boeing plant each business day. Full Story
Negotiations near for city fire contract with CIFR
December 31, 2011 looms on the horizon.
When the city signed a contract for emergency medical services (EMS) with Camano Island Fire and Rescue (CIFR) in May 2005 followed by an interlocal agreement for management and supervision of its fire department that September, both were set to expire the end of 2011. Full Story
Koster aims for Congress
Citing the need for a “less intrusive government” in a statement released Wednesday, Snohomish County Councilman John Koster, 58, officially announced his campaign to represent Washington’s 2nd Congressional District.
Last November, Koster fended off challenger Ellen Hiatt Watson to remain on the county council for a third term. Full Story

Earl Hollis O’Bryan

Earl Hollis O’Bryan was born December 26, 1923 in Bower, South Dakota, and he passed away January 16, 2010, after a long battle with cancer.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Earl moved to Everett with his mother and brothers in 1935. He joined the Navy at age 17 and served during World War II. Full Story
