Your ‘story” should be so much more
Dear Editor:
Simply, something just isn’t right in Stanwood. Bad decisions and outright stupidity seems to be flourishing.
Someone needs to bring “the barn” to the forefront and make individuals understand and acknowledge as to why seeing those names is a horrible, tragic, life altering, destructive, worthless way to exit this great planet. A story needs to be told that the public, especially the young ones, understand as to why bad decisions end up destroying lives and in no way shape or form should be summed up that the individuals responsible for that act in some way contributed to a community or society in general.
That “barn” has been painted at least six times in the past four years with a new martyr. Questions need to be asked. Why are so many names appearing on that wall?
I have never, in my entire life, seen so many kids dying and destroying others in their wake, from one single community.
On the other side of the barn is painted the saying, “What will your story be?”
I find that incredibly inspirational that I have a large framed photograph on my mantel. It reminds me to ask myself every single day as to what I can do to contribute as a responsible member of a community, and the human race in general.
The “story” shouldn’t be dead wrapped around a tree or overturned in a ditch.
Maybe you can put something together that reinforces that “your story” should be a worthy effort at the minimum.
