Santa and elves made Christmas bright for families

Dear Editor:

It was a happy Christmas for 16 local families when the Forgotten Children’s Fund delivered a very merry Christmas to them and their children on the morning of Christmas Eve.

Santa’s local elves were aided in their endeavor by several anonymous donors and Stanwood area businesses — Camano Island RE Max, the Islander Restaurant, and Island Massage and Pain Therapy — were generous enough to assure another successful Santa trip.O

ur community is lucky enough to have several organizations in our area who provide services to families in need: The Christmas House, the food bank, Haggen Food & Pharmacy, QFC, and the Camano Plaza Market.

They are just some of the Puget Sound organizations that join the Forgotten Children’s Fund in trying to spread a bit of cheer on what would otherwise be a dreary season for some unfortunate families and their children.

We all benefit from this generosity, and should be mindful of the efforts of our neighbors to make this an even better place to live.
