‘SilverSneakers’ new exercise program
Camano Country Club will be offering SilverSneakers®, the fitness program designed for older adults, and is a trademarked product of Healthways. Purpose of the SilverSneakers Fitness Program is to provide a universal fitness benefit for managed care organization’s Medicare members through an exclusive network of contracted locations. Eligible health plan members (ages 65 years of age and older and individuals declared Medicare disabled) receive a basic membership at no extra charge. Two classes on Tues. and Thur., 10:15 a.m., starting Jan. 5. Call Kathy, 425-205-0870. Dance Aerobics is for 60 minutes at 9 a.m. and water exercise for 45 minutes at 11:30 a.m. Exercises designed to increase cardiovascular and muscular strength. No swimming required. Canines 4-H Club open enrollment
An informational meeting for all returning and interested new 4-H club members is Thurs., Jan. 7, 5:30 p.m. at the Camano Senior and Community Center. Camano Canines 4-H Club is open to all youth in the third grade and above. However, no

January 12 work party at state parks
Friends of Camano Island Parks volunteers will be hosting a work party at Camano Island and Cama Beach state parks as well as Ivy-Dry Lake Road Trailhead next week. Meet at 9:30 a.m. Tues., Jan 12 at Camano Island State Park ranger station. Bring lunch, beverage and dessert provided. The CISP signage project will continue as well as some trail restoration projects. Newcomers are welcome to join FOCIP in work party efforts to improve Camano Island parks and trails. Line Dancing begins new classes

Ladies Bible study begins next week
A ladies Bible study begins Wed., Jan. 13, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Hansen residence. Call 387-4874, ask for Sarah Glanz, teacher. Topic will be “The Holy Spirit and His giftings.” No child care, finger food.
Zumba fitness team honors firefighters
Camano Island Zumba Fitness Team is hosting a party to benefit Stanwood/Camano Island firefighters Sat, Jan. 23, at South Camano Grange Hall (2227 S. West Camano Dr.) 5 - 8 p.m. Suggested donation. Fire Jets to discuss 2010 goals
