DAVID S. THOMAS JR

JULY 23, 1921 – DEC. 17, 2009

David S. Thomas Jr. (Papa) was born July 23, 1921, and raised in Denver, Colo., and he passed away Dec. 17, 2009 with his family by his side.

Dave came to the Northwest in 1942 after joining the Navy during World War II. He married Georgia Titus in 1945 and they raised three daughters.

He was widowed in 1974 and spent the last 23 years living on Camano Island.

David is preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Georgia.

He is survived and very much loved by three daughters: Carolyn (Dale) Sanford of Entiat, Wash., Gail (Fred) Konker of Mill Creek and Mary (Walt) Nicholas of Camano Island.

Papa had eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Many things can be said about our Dad, Papa and Great-Papa. He was so very giving, yet frugal, determined and stubborn, and friendly, yet he was happy to be alone.

We will all miss his cookies, pies, endless energy and love.

As he always liked to say, “What do we do now?”

Memorials may be made to Children’s Hospital of Seattle.
