Longtime Stanwood veterinarian, Harold Warsinske, died Christmas Day after a short illness. Dr. Warsinske was a large and small animal practitioner who, with his colleague, Dr. Gene Elefson, pioneered the practice of bovine embryo transfer in the United States. Full Story
SHAWN PATRICK MADIGAN

Shawn Patrick Madigan peacefully ascended to our Lord and Savior, Dec. 26 2009 at age 42, after a long and courageous battle with juvenile diabetes.

DAVID S. THOMAS JR
JULY 23, 1921 – DEC. 17, 2009
David S. Thomas Jr. (Papa) was born July 23, 1921, and raised in Denver, Colo., and he passed away Dec. 17, 2009 with his family by his side.
Dave came to the Northwest in 1942 after joining the Navy during World War II. He married Georgia Titus in 1945 and they raised three daughters.
He was widowed in 1974 and spent the last 23 years living on Camano Island. Full Story

FEB. 23, 1920 — DEC. 28, 2009
Walter Sydney Funk, oldest son of the late Ray and Hattie Funk, returned to his Heavenly Father in the early hours of Dec. 28, 2009.
Born Feb. 23, 1920, he grew up in the Pinehurst area of Everett with his siblings Adabelle Mattot of Kirkland, Floyd and Arlene Funk of Lake Stevens and Ray (Judy) Funk of Oregon and California. Full Story

Margaret Jean Ellis was born in Yakima Oct. 5, 1919 to Mary Elizabeth McDonald Ward (“Lillian”) and Stephen Ward; she died Dec. 26, 2009. Her father, who had been street commissioner for the city of Everett, died in 1919. Full Story

Rebecca Riccardo, a.k.a, Lori Beall, passed away suddenly in Valley City, Utah, on Sept. 6, 2009. There was a service and obituary in that city at the time.
