Jazz festival

Outstanding performance by SHS Jazz Band

Dear Editor:

I attended the Northshore Jazz Festival in Bothell Nov. 21, to watch my sons play with the Woodinville High School Jazz Ensemble.

I was lucky to arrive early, for I had the chance to hear your excellent Stanwood High School Jazz Band in performance.

They were great!

What a fantastic tribute to the fine families of Stanwood and the whole community that supports them. The energy and enthusiasm of the band’s conductor, Doug Morasch, was evident, and he clearly had done a great job working with the students at Stanwood High. You are fortunate to have such a fine instructor.

Your band was excellent and fun to hear. I hope they keep coming to the Northshore Festival so I can hear them again.

In case you are wondering, this is the first time I have been so moved to write about a high school band performance.
