Village Commons’ pipes break
By JEREMIAH O’HAGAN Staff Reporter
The sprinkler pipes in Village Commons condominiums burst in Thursday afternoon’s cold.
For the second year, broken pipes on the fourth floor cascaded water down the side of the building and into the parking lot below.
Darin Reid, Stanwood- Camano Fire Department chief, said it was a mess.
“We put up caution tape and rock salt,” Reid said, “and posted a fire guard 24- hours-a-day until the sprinkler system is inspected and turned back on.”
In addition to the frozen parking lot and sidewalks. “about 12 units were damaged by the water,” Reid said.
