Swimmers launch prime time campaign
By winning six of the 11 scheduled events, the Spartan boys’ swim team came as close to beating Whidbey Island rival Oak Harbor, one of the best-established aquatic teams in the area, for the first-time ever. Full Story
Double dual, Wrestlerama jumpstart Spartan season
Wrestling season began with a flurry of activity for the local grapplers this past week.
Ray Mather’s club tied Meadowdale 36-36, beat Lynnwood and settled for second behind the ever-tough Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks at the annual Wrestlerama in the local gymnasium Saturday afternoon. Full Story
Spartan football seniors garner honors
No less than nine Spartan seniors earned special recognition during the football team’s recent season-ending banquet.
Michael Randall received two of the awards for his play this past fall. The offensive lineman/linebacker was voted Lineman of the Year and was given the coveted Spartan Award as well. Full Story

Sometimes it just comes down to whichever team has the ball at the end.
That’s how it happened last Thursday night.
