calls last week.
• On Nov. 19, a 49-yearold Marysville woman was booked into jail for criminal trespass and resisting arrest in the 8800 block of Viking Way. She had been told to leave a business several times, refused to comply and was uncooperative with police. Full Story
Family inspired by 4-year-old’s courage
In January, 4-year-old Kaylah showed symptoms of a common cold.
Her mother, Kristina Talamantez, took Kaylah to the doctor.
Antibiotics didn’t work.
Another visit resulted in seasonal allergy medication.
That didn’t work either.
Stronger antibiotics were prescribed.

Local church celebrates 125 years
“To put it all in perspective,” said Nancy Adams, historian for the Stanwood United Methodist Church, “our history is mindboggling.”
Adams has been digging through church archives, family photos and faded newspaper articles in preparation for the church’s 125th anniversary being celebrated throughout this year. Full Story
Fatal crash claims four
A traffic crash claimed the lives of four people Sunday night northeast of Marysville.
A 2005 Ford Explorer driven by Matthew Mc- Donald, 27, of Snohomish, along with passenger John Ladue, 32, of Stanwood allegedly ran a stop sign at the intersection of 108th Street N.E. and Highway 9, Tboning a 2007 Hyundai, according to the Washington State Patrol. Full Story

Fire District 19 proposes renovations
Silvana Fire District No. 19 is ready to move ahead with plans for a 6,750- square-foot addition to Station 94.
The district is scheduled to appear before the Snohomish County examiner on Dec. 8 to seek approval for a revision to the conditionaluse permit for the existing station on Happy Valley Road. Full Story
Bailey talks budget over coffee
Washington state Rep. Barbara Bailey (R-Oak Harbor) dropped by Scandia Coffeehouse last Tuesday to chat with the citizens she represents.
The stop was scheduled as part of Bailey’s coffee talks and was her third that day, preceded by visits in Oak Harbor and La Connor.
