A pair of seniors who represented Stanwood High at the Northwest 4A District Championships came away with a handful of honors at the seasonending boys’ tennis banquet recently.

Teague Nelson and Chris Gilmore, the squad’s No. 1 and No. 2 singles players all season before joining forces to capture the WesCo 4A North championship and then compete at the district level, took home several plaques between them.

Nelson was the team’s only 4-year letter winner, served as a co-captain, earned a Coaches Award and became a member of the 100-Hour Club.

Gilmore was equally honored as he earned his third letter, was co-captain, was voted a Coaches Award as well and put in hours of extra work on the tennis court to join the 100-Hour Club.
