BENJAMIN E. HILLS

Nov. 13, 1984 - Nov. 11, 2009

Ben Hills tragically died in a home fire in Seattle.

Ben was born in Mount Vernon, Wash. to Greg and Marianne Hills.

He was the third of three brothers, Seth and Danny, who loved him deeply.

He grew up in the Stanwood Camano School District, graduating in 2003 with lasting friends.

His grandfather, David McGarry’s legacy, began Ben’s career and passion in music as a drummer. His mentor, Mike of the Seattle Drum Garage, recognized and helped develop his talent.

Upon graduation, Bennie moved to Capitol Hill in Seattle. There he attended Seattle Central Community College while pursuing his career on the Seattle music scene, where he was loved and appreciated by so many friends.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Greg Hills and Jeanne Schei; mother and stepfather, Marianne McGarry Bloom and Greg Bloom; brothers Seth and Danny Hills, all of Camano Island; grandmother, Eleanor Hills of Marysville; stepbrothers, Corey, Leon and Gavin Bloom of Seattle; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mass was held Nov. 17 at St Cecilia’s Catholic Church.
