$50,000 for playground
Rotary supports playground
Dear Editor:
It is with great pleasure that we announce that the Rotary Club of Stanwood/ Camano Island has stepped forward with a donation of $50,000 to support the community built playground, which will be constructed at Freedom Park this com- ing May.
This playground is like no other most of us have ever seen. Designed by our own area youth and crafted to last for generations, it will be built with the volunteer labor of our friends, families and neighbors.
Located at Terry’s Corner with easy access for all in the Stanwood/Camano area, the playground is a significant statement of support for today’s youth. We encourage you to look at the schematic and design of the playground at www.iHeart- Parks.org as words simply do not describe the scope or scale of this project.
To date, more than $85,000 has been raised from small and large donations, putting us almost halfway to the project budget!
There are many opportunities at all levels for everyone in our community to get involved and support this project, and I ask you to visit www.iHeartParks. org to learn more.
One of the many items up for sponsorship are fence pickets engraved with a name a great way to celebrate your loved ones this holiday season.
We would like to thank Rotary and the more than 150 individuals who have agreed to support this project through financial gifts and their labor in order to make dreams become realities.
