Fire destroys a home
Heavy smoke and flames were rolling from Stanwood home when North County Fire/EMS arrived on scene at 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
Additional crews were requested at the residence, located in the 30300 block of Old Pioneer Highway N.W. All told, over 40 firefighters from five districts battled the fire. Full Story
Fire crews retrieve capsized duck hunter
Fire crews picked up a stranded duck hunter Sunday after his small boat capsized in rough waters.
Camano Island Fire and Rescue deployed boats to pick up the stranded man after he called 911. When crews arrived, he was standing on a sandbar – wet and cold, but otherwise OK. Full Story
Local man dies in house fire
An accidental fire claimed the life of Benjamin Hills early Wednesday morning, Nov. 11.
The 2003 Stanwood High School graduate was temporarily staying at a friend’s house on Capitol Hill in Seattle.
