21st annual Festival of Trees

A sample of what guests can expect. This tree was auctioned in 2008. Skagit Valley Hospital Foundation will host its 2009 Festival of Trees Nov. 27-29 at St. Joseph Center in Mount Vernon.

A gala evening and auction begin the festival at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 27. The auction will include 30 elaborate trees, each decorated by volunteer designers to convey a story or tradition. The trees will be available for preview 10 a.m. to noon the day of the event, which will benefit inpatient mental health facilities at the hospital.

Last year the festival raised $290,000.

Other events related to the festival include:

• Reds, Whites & Brews – wine and beer tasting event 7 p.m. Nov. 28. Tickets are $40 per person or $400 for a reserved table for eight.

• Kids’ Day – activities for children Nov. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission $5 for adults and $3 for children (aged 18 and under).

• Seniors’ Day – Nov. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission $2 for seniors.
