Food for Huskies or Cougars?
The Stanwood-Camano Kiwanis Club will hold a food drive at the Haggens in Stanwood Fri., Nov. 20 3 and 7 p.m. This is Apple Cup weekend so there will be two boxes, one for the Huskies and one for the Cougars. “Please come out and vote for the team of your choice with a gift of non-perishable food for the food bank,” said a Kiwanis spokesman. While visiting with a Josephine resident nearing the end of life, we read an entry in a daily devotional book that reminded us of how well God knows us. It reminded me of a favorite Psalm, 139, a part of which I like to paraphrase—very loosely—that God designed and knows every cell in our body, since long before we were born, and still loves us. An appreciation goes out to the community for participation at the Silvana Hall’s recent harvest dinner and fundraiser. Over $6,800 was raised to contribute to the septic system project for Viking Hall. Nearly 300 people participated with great food, a live performance by country/rock singer Hannah Michelle Weeks, and some great raffle items. Full Story
