Marilyn Laverne Kendall

Oct. 30, 1930 - Oct. 25, 2009

Marilyn passed away quietly at her home on Camano Island, Wash. after an extended illness. Marilyn was wife to John W. Kendall, who preceded her in death earlier this year, for 58 years.

Their son, James M. Kendall, preceded them in death in 2007.

Her surviving children are John W. Kendall, Jr., wife Maryann of Spokane; Jerome S. Kendall, wife Linda of Arizona; Jennifer A. French of Arizona; Joan M. Burger, husband Brent of Spokane; Jeffery P. Kendall of Ohio; Mary C. Decker, husband Mark of Texas; and Monica M. Kendall of Arizona.

She has 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Marilyn served in the Air Force early in her life where she met her husband John. She later became an R.N. and worked for many years in the operating room.

Marilyn had a tremendous love for the English language and her own vocabulary was vast. She was a published author, and enjoyed reading and cross-stitching.

Our darling mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother is, and will be, deeply missed.

Interment service will be at Holy Cross Cemetery Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. It was Marilyn’s wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Skagit Hospice, 819 S. 13th St., Mt. Vernon, WA, 98274 or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Gilbertson Funeral Home.
