Talent abounds in ‘The Sound of Music’

Dear Editor:

Last week I was asked by Brenda Mueller, executive director of the Lyric Light Opera Company on Camano Island, to attend one of their rehearsals for “The Sound of Music” and take pictures and short video clips for her and her cast.

What a wonderful experience, watching all of the local actors and actresses rehearsing their music, lines and choreography.

It was amazing to see how well the younger performers, some as young as 10 years old, sang and danced at Brenda and her staff’s direction.

I’m really looking forward to seeing this show, which opens in Mount Vernon Nov. 7 and runs through Nov. 15 at McIntyre Hall.

Lots more information about the Lyric Light Opera Company is at www.lyriclightopera. org.
