Camano woman awarded grant
Kids to Kids, a youth focused initiative of Infante Sano, announces it has awarded a grant to Karina Seyler, originally from Camano Island, to support her volunteer work in the Dominican Republic.
This grant will fund a community resource center and children’s library in the rural village of Guayabal. Full Story

Swedish Baptist Church of Cedarhome welcomed into charter membership Olaf and Cherstin Jonson, who homesteaded here in 1887. John Hanson of Camano noted the changes from Indian Encampments to small cities after he arrived here in 1888. The first proclaimed U.S. holiday in 1789 was Thanksgiving.

Last week, I told you about my nephew’s hero’s journey, sailing down the Missouri and Mississippi rivers from Sioux City, Iowa to Mobile, Alabama by way of the Tenn-Tombigbee Waterway, then around Florida via the intercoastal waterway, all the way up to Maine, a journey of 4,000 miles!
