Spartan harriers race to fifth place, beat 15 teams

Wade Weinert Wade Weinert At the end of the day, following the North County Invite, the Spartan boys’ cross-country squad had accumulated a total of 39 points.

That accumulated score earned the local harriers a fifth place among the gathered 352 individuals from 20 teams. Each runner ran with members of his particular class in school so placings are based on how each racer fared within that class.

The five best placings turned in by Stanwood runners were a third place by sophomore Wade Weinert (17:07), a fifth place by sophomore Wolde Brown (17:22), sixth place by freshman Tanner Nieman (17:47), an 11th by junior Cody Howard (17:21) and a 14th by sophomore Aaron Sandquist (18:28).

Among the rest of the Spartan contingent posted especially good times were senior Aaron Reed (20th, 17:49), senior Mark Pelham (29th, 18:14), sophomore Austin Biehl (18th, 18:37) and freshman Cody Haskins (15th, 18:39).

Others representing Stanwood were senior Mitchel Chitwood (52nd, 1948), juniors Michael Krantz (30th, 18:58), Jecksen Wanambisi (32nd, 19:02), Brent Wangsness (53rd, 20:01), Matt Mourges (59th, 20:29), Bo Luce (68th, 21:04) and Matthew Evoy (83rd, 25:20), sophomores Adam Knott (28th, 18:54), Cole Farnsworth (33rd, 19:04), Micah Losee (36th, 19:12), Nick Donahue (37th, 19:12), Cameron Waters (56th, 20:25), Steve Brakhage (61st, 20:46), Isaiah Bankson (69th, 21:33), Kevin Downs (72nd, 21:39), Connor Martin (78th, 22:11), Gunnar Guddal (79th, 22:11), Trevor Mascrenas (86th, 22:33) and Kyle Johnson (88th, 23:05) and freshman Jacob Land (47th, 20:41).
