Timmerman has been there for us

Dear Editor:

We support Don Timmerman for fire commissioner on Camano Island.

After 30 years as a deputy sheriff, and certified through the state of Florida as an EMT, my wife and I retired to Camano Island.

We first met Don Timmerman who was the seller’s representative for a house that we were purchasing.

Unlike Miami where a lawyer does all the work, Don walked us through the mortgage process.

Eight months later, at about 11 p.m., I turned on the water faucet and found out that we had none! Being on our own well, I telephoned the only person I knew, Don Timmerman.

In spite of the late hour, he researched information and gave me advice on what to do and who to call. By the next afternoon, we had water again.

When my wife became ill, Don Timmerman told me about the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Throughout the past three years he has been invaluable support.

Throughout my career in law enforcement I know the bonds between fire and police are strong and the need to have an agency that is equipped with the most modern advanced life support equipment is paramount.

For we all are only a traffic accident away from needing their assistance.

So I urge you to cast your vote for a better and safer tomorrow by voting for Don Timmerman.
