Pearce is home grown, good choice for council

Dear Editor:

This next election for Stanwood City Council is an important one.

Stanwood continues to grow and the city council members are the people charged with controlling and managing that growth.

The individuals we elect need to be committed to looking out for the best interests of the citizens of Stanwood.

Having people on the city council that have deep roots in Stanwood is important in keeping an open channel of communication between the city and the citizens.

Tim Pearce is one of those people. Tim has been involved in the community for most of his life. Most recently as a commissioner on the city planning commission for the past six years.

I have served with Tim on the planning commission for three of those years and his input has made a dramatic impact on the direction the city has taken. He is not afraid to speak up when he believes something is not right.

He asks the tough questions when others may hesitate.

We need people on the city council that are making decisions based upon what is best for the city, not simply what is politically expedient.

We also need people who are interested in long-term solutions to issues not short term fixes.

Tim Pearce is one of those people.

I believe that having Tim Pearce on the Stanwood City Council will be a long-term benefit to our great city and I encourage you to support him this November.
