CIFR needs Timmerman’s business sense

Dear Editor:

As a spouse of a Camano Island firefighter, I have seen first hand the importance of having strong leadership on the board of commissioners for Camano Island Fire and Rescue. The fire department has evolved in the past decade from being supported by only volunteer firefighters to now being a combination of career staff, part timers, and volunteers, all trying to meet the growing demands and needs of our community.

This election of commissioners is especially important as Camano Island Fire and Rescue works towards increasing efficiency and improving response times within the constraints of difficult economic times.

As the fire department evolves, so should its board of commissioners.

Don Timmerman is the candidate that is best suited for this job. He brings new ideas and a different viewpoint to the board that will help the commissioners address the needs of the residents of the island.

As a long time resident of Camano Island, Mr. Timmerman is familiar with the various neighborhoods and residents. He has been an active member in the community and cares about what people have to say.

He has a strong business sense and a financial background that will serve the board well.

Please join me and the firefighters of Camano Island Fire and Rescue in voting for Don Timmerman for commissioner.

Jennifer Allen Camano Island
