Structure fire causes $100,000 damage

A structure fire on north Camano Island caused about $100,000 in damage.

The homeowner reported the fire Thursday night, and Camano Island Fire and Rescue crews stationed at the Terry’s Corner Fire Station quickly responded, said Levon Yengoyan, Camano Island Fire and Rescue assistant chief.

The outbuilding was far enough away from the home that it didn’t spread, he said. However, belongings inside the building, including several motorcycles, were damaged.

No one was injured, Yengoyan said. The cause of the fire was not deemed suspicious, but is still under investigation. Stanwood Camano Fire Department assisted.
