Sno-Isle raises $19,000 in “Stay Home & Read” fundraiser

There were no bids, no reservations, no babysitters to hire, no elegant dresses to wear. Instead, this year the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation, in partnership with corporate sponsors, raised money by doing nothing for its annual fundraising event. And donors liked it.

More than $19,000 was raised through the “Stay Home and Read a Book” fundraiser.

Donors were invited to give themselves the night of Sept. 12 “off” and make a donation to the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation. More than 120 households in Snohomish and Island counties participated.

Major corporate sponsors for this year are Once Sold Tales, Washington Energy Services, and BECU, ensuring all the money raised would go directly to support programs and services. Other sponsors include 3M Library Services, Anderson Hunter Law Firm, BWI, Chermak Construction, Frontier Bank, Midwest Tape, Partners West Book Distributers, Pro Quest Co., Thomas & Associates Insurance Broker, Inc., and University Book Store.

The Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation funds many programs and resources, including Teen Project, Books for Babies, Book Discussion Collection, and other programs in the libraries.

Sno-Isle Libraries serves more than 646,000 residents in Snohomish and Island counties.

For more information on library services in your area, please call the Sno- Isle Libraries Service Center at 360-651-7000 or 800- 342-1936, or visit the web site at www.sno-isle.org.
