Radio and sun among excuses for collisions

Stanwood Police responded to the following calls recently:

• After rear-ending a vehicle in the 9200 block of SR 532 on Oct. 8, the driver said the sun was in his eyes.

• On Oct. 13, a two-car collision occurred in the 88th Ave/SR 532 area when a driver rear-ended the vehicle in front of her while looking at her radio.

• A three-car collision occurred Oct. 16 in the 10200 block of SR 532. A ticket was issued for the infraction of “following too close.”

• After a truck and pedestrian incident Oct. 9 in the 27200 block of 92nd Avenue NW, the victim said she was not injured.

• A 29-year-old Stanwood male was booked into the Snohomish County Jail Oct. 10, on domestic violence assault charges after a call from the 27100 block of 102nd Drive NW.

• On Oct. 10, a disturbance was reported in the 27800 block of 74th Avenue NW where two neighbors were yelling at each other.

• A vehicle from the 9700 block of 272nd Place NW was recovered outside the city limits Oct. 10.

• A business in the 8700 block of 271st Street NW was burglarized during the night Oct. 11 and alcohol was taken.

• On Oct. 12, a vehicle reported stolen out of Arlington on Sept. 28 was recovered in the 26000 block of 72nd Avenue NW and returned to its owner undamaged.

• A 26-year-old Stanwood woman and her mother had an altercation Oct. 12 in the 27100 block of 101st Avenue NW, and the daughter was there when the police arrived. Charges were referred for domestic violence/assault.

• A 13-year-old Stanwood male was found Oct. 12 with drug paraphernalia in the 7400 block of 272nd Street NW and he was referred to Juvenile Court.

• A vehicle prowl that occurred on Oct. 9 in the 7400 block of 272nd Street NW was reported Oct. 13. A cup holder and sweatshirt were taken.

• A 16-year-old Camano Island juvenile was found Oct. 13 in possession of drug paraphernalia in the 7600 block of 272nd Street NW.

• Stereo equipment was stolen Oct. 14 from a vehicle parked in the 7800 block of 260th Street NW.

• A business in the 2700 block of 92nd Avenue NW reported, on Oct. 14, receiving a counterfeit bill.

• Oct. 14, a 38-year-old Stanwood man in the 7700 block of 262nd Place NW was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for second degree assault charges.

• The theft of an IPOD was reported from the 7400 block of 272nd Street NW Oct. 14.

• A two-car collision on Oct. 15 occurred in the 9900 block of 270th Street NW when one vehicle failed to yield right-of-way.

• On Oct. 15, a car owner reported that sunglasses were stolen Oct. 9 from a vehicle parked in the 7400 block of 272nd Street NW.

Miscellaneous tools were taken from an unlocked vehicle a vehicle prowl occurred Oct. 15 in the 10000 block of 272nd Place NW.

• A vehicle theft was reported Oct. 16 in the 26000 block of 72nd Ave. NW.
