H1N1 clinic to be held Sat.
An H1N1 flu clinic will be offered 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Sat., Oct. 24, at Heritage Park, 9600 276th St. NW in Stanwood.
The drive-through vaccinations are available for free for pregnant women and children ages 6 months to 4 years. All other priority groups will need to wait for the clinic on Oct. 31 that will be held at the same time and same place.
About 1,700 doses of the vaccine are available for the local clinic, said Darin Reid, assistant fire chief for Stanwood-Camano Fire Department. They hope to vaccinate as many members of those groups who have been hardest hit by the influenza strain.
Heritage Park will be closed starting Friday to allow personnel to prepare for the mass vaccination.
