Every person deserves peace
As we approach the end of 2009, people live in a time of uncertainty. They live with the threat of a total economic collapse and threat by terrorists and other nations of being attacked with weapons of mass destruction.
Yet, Isaiah 9:6 titles Jesus, “The Prince of Peace.”
King David, who himself and his kingdom was continually involved in one fight, battle or war after another, understood where his peace was to be found. Psalms 4:8 reads, “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep; for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.”
The Bible tells us that peace comes from God and that God gave that peace to man through Jesus Christ. Luke 2:14, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
Ladies and Gentlemen: In this age of uncertainty, God can, and has, given you peace through Jesus Christ. Rely on Him and trust in Him and allow God to shield and protect in times of storms. People and family members get sick. They get in different types of accidents. Some become disabled and we all eventually die to face our creator. Look to Jesus Christ today, and let Him give you peace both now on Earth and forever.
The Apostle Paul wrote to the members of the church in Philippi who also suffered many hardships and times of anxiety many words of encouragement, reminding them that Jesus Christ will give them peace if they follow Him. Philippians 4:7, “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Remember Jesus first words when He spoke to His disciples was consistently, “Be not afraid and peace be to you.” Luke 24:36 reads, “And as they thus spake, Jesus stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.”
John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
