RONALD PAUL FREY
SEPT. 12, 1932 - OCT. 4, 2009
Ronald Paul Frey passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Oct. 4, 2009. He is now home with his Heavenly Father. Love defined his life as a husband, father, son, brother and friend.
Ron was born on Sept. 12, 1932 in Meadow Grove, Nebraska, to Lester and Ophie Frey. The family moved to Bellevue, Wash. in 1936. Ron attended school in Bellevue, graduating from Bellevue High School in 1952 where he was a four-year letterman in football and track and field. After high school he served in the Army during the Korean War.
Upon returning home Ron graduated from the University of Washington in 1960 and went on to teach in the Seattle School District for 31 years during which time he earned a master's degree in education from Seattle University.
After retiring Ron was able to do more of the activities he had enjoyed all his life: fishing, golfing, hunting, wood-working, painting, gardening, traveling and attending Husky football games.
Most importantly, he enjoyed doing all of these things with his family and friends whom he loved so dearly.
Ron is preceded in death by his daughter Kim.
He is survived by his wife Karla, daughters Connie Bachman (husband Roger) and Jamie Low (husband Jim), siblings Stan Frey, David Frey, Karen Krehbiel and Bill Frey and grandsons Ian, Paul, Peter, Connor, Carson, Colton and Cooper, all of whom will miss him and his laugh and smile forever.
A service to celebrate Ron's life will be held at Camano Chapel on Camano Island 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Camano Chapel building fund or your favorite charity.
