28th AAUW Art show
 A hand-painted pitcher by Wendy Ross will be included in the 28th annual Invitational Art Show for Education presented by the Stanwood Camano American Association of University Women. At a new location this year, the show is Oct. 17 and 18 at the Stanwood Camano Fairgrounds with more than 75 regional artists in a wide range of media, from hand-painted porcelain, ceramics, glass, jewelry, artistic basketry, outdoor art, wall hangings, quilts and textiles to paintings in oil, watercolor and acrylics. The art show will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Bonnie Susan Cole Building, 6431 Pioneer Highway, Stanwood. Admission is free and parking is plentiful. Artists in Action features guest artists demonstrating their techniques and skills on Saturday. Proceeds benefit local scholarships. This year the Stanwood-Camano AAUW awarded two $2,500 scholarships to Jamie Johnson and Julie Bryant, graduates of Stanwood High School.
