Outdoor burning ban in SnoCo lifted
The burn ban for unincorporated areas of Snohomish County has been lifted. This means that individuals with a residential burn permit will be allowed to burn. This decision was made by the Snohomish County Fire Marshal's Office in conjunction with Skagit, Island and Whatcom counties as well as the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR). North County Fire reports 1,367 calls
For the month of August North County Regional Fire Authority reported 202 calls, six structure fires, 20 fire responses, 23 motor vehicle accidents, 133 medical calls, 18 service calls, and two hazardous material responses. Year to date number of incidents for the North County Regional Fire Authority is 1,367 total calls so far in 2009. Full Story

Woman chased by man while walking to work in early morning
The Stanwood Police reported to the following calls last week: • A 22-year-old Stanwood woman reported Sept. 17 that she was chased by a male on foot while she walked to work in the early morning, in the Pioneer Highway/85th Drive NW area. Saving Puget Sound

Two boys caught breaking, entering
Island County Sheriff's deputies on Camano Island responded to the following recently: • An 8-year-old boy and 10-year-old boy were caught breaking into an unoccupied home on Lockwood Drive Sept. 20. The youth had also lit fires in the home, broken glass and used spray paint. Full Story
