Theresa Walyor accepts "Scavenger Hunt" by Robert Paczkowski after winning the raffle of the 14th annual Roaming Artists Art Show. Walyor and her childhood friend Megan Moyer were returning from the Camano Transfer Station when they saw the signs for an art show and decided to drop in. Full Story
Driving a million miles
David Samii was honored last week by Community Transit for driving a million miles. The Camano Island resident started training to be coach operator on the same day as Muriel Cort in Aug. 1995 and they both reached a million miles 14 years later. Full Story

Local teacher to help create Thai school for at-risk kids
It was a dream that Michelle Brekhus didn't even know she had. Brekhus, formerly of Stanwood, is scheduled to depart for Thailand on Oct. 20, where she will help set up a school for elementaryage children who are in danger of being sold into sexual slavery. Full Story
