Fire Jets to host knitters guild
North Sound Knitter's Guild will show some of their creations to members of the Terry's Corner Fire Jets Mon., Sept. 14, 10 a.m., at Terry's Corner Fire Station. AARP safe driving class Sept. 18
An AARP Safe Driving Class will be offered at Camano Senior and Community Center, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fri., Sept. 18. At the completion of the eight-hour course, students are eligible for a state mandated reduction in car insurance premiums. Many insurance companies will give a discount to anyone taking the class, regardless of age. Fee is payable to the instructor.
Early Learning Community Fair
An Early Learning Community Fair at the Camano Island Library 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Sept. 12 will get your little ones ready to succeed in school. Includes demonstrations of early learning resources, hands-on activities and giveaways for kids, and information from local community organizations. K nitter's Guild begins fall season
The North Sound Knitters' Guild will have its monthly meeting Tues., Sept 8 at St. Aidan's Church, 6 to 9 p.m. All knitters are welcome. End of summer swap meet/flea market
For three Sundays, Sept. 13, 20 and 27, there will be an end of the summer swap meet and flea market at Terry's Corner in the Commons area. Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; set-up at 9 a.m., contact Sylvy, 360-572-4577 to find cost for a 10 by 10 foot space. There are antiques, specialty gift items and a local artists market as well as live music, arts and crafts table for children. If weather permits, there will be volleyball for those who wish to play.
