Regional artists at Plant Farm
While the gardening season wraps up, how about considering some art to add color to your home and yard.
Snohomish, Island and Skagit county artists are showing their work at the second annual Art at the Plant Farm 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Sept. 12 and 13 at the Smokey Point Plant Farm, , at 15022 Twin Lakes Ave., in Marysville. The show is coordinated by Roberta and Kent Baker for the Arlington Arts Council.
The show makes use of the plant farm's expansive display space, with plants scattered among art by more than 40 different artists.
Media to be represented includes three-dimensional glass, wood work, jewelry, pottery and sculpture and many two-dimensional paintings in watercolor, acrylics, oils, pastels and drawings, photographs and mixed media.
Stanwood artists participating include Gary Wold who fuses glass, oil painter Norman Kearsley and Dan and Linda Wright, who own and operate Brushstrokes Art Supply in the Smokey Point area of Arlington. They will bring tie dye and screen prints to the show.
From Camano Island, Beverly Reaume works in stained glas, Karen Rust offers fused-glass items, and Dave Thomas will bring his woodcarvings. Along with Stanwood-Camano artists, others are from Arlington, Marysville, Burlington, La Conner and beyond. Also music and food available.
