SHS students near state SAT average
Stanwood-Camano students scored similar to the state average in the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Most colleges require students to take either the SAT or the ACT in order to be accepted. In the Stanwood-Camano School District, 211 students took the SAT last year, said Christine Gruver, Stanwood High School (SHS) principal. Full Story

June Victoria (Hickey) Thomle, 91, was called to the domain of the almighty God Aug. 28, 2009, after a short battle with cancer. June was born Oct. 20, 1917 to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hickey of Everett. She graduated from Everett High School with the class of 1935 and attended the University of Washington where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in fine arts in 1939. Full Story

Dagmar Isabelle Davis, the youngest of nine siblings, was born Christmas Day 1914 in Saguache, Colorado to Gustav and Ingred Johnson. She passed from this life at 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2009. With her family, she moved to Monroe as a child where she attended school and worked in the farm fields. Full Story
