Thanks to all who donate to food bank

Dear Editor:

I am a member of Boy Scout Troop 86 in Stanwood.

During the summer, the troop and I have been working on a Camano Island garden raising crops to be donated to the Stanwood-Camano Food Bank. The land we work on belongs to Mike Mouracade who made the decision to donate this year's total crop to the food bank.

Having been in and out of the food bank several times since early July, I have seen what generous donations the people of Stanwood have brought in this year. Thanks to the good weather, the fresh produce being given this year is unlike any other.

I would like to applaud Mr. Mouracade and all others who have so generously offered food to the community in these trying economic times.

Let us keep up the good work; the food is greatly needed and appreciated.

John Bartlett Camano Island
