Health care reform bill unacceptable
Dear Editor:
While in Stanwood, Rep. Larsen asked to hear from people regarding health care.
The cleverly worded question he asked was, "If you think the status quo is acceptable then tell me why or if you think it is unacceptable, then tell me why."
Very clever indeed.
He failed to ask, "If you think the current House of Representatives' health reform bill is unacceptable, tell me why."
Here is why it is unacceptable:
A. The CBO says it will cost a trillion dollars over 10 years. It will cost more. Higher taxes for everyone and more debt for our grandkids. Unacceptable.
B. We don't need a bureaucrat making health choices for us. The only health related choices I am interested in are between my doctor, my family, and myself. Unacceptable.
C. If there is a government health care option, it will eventually put private insurers out of business. Also unacceptable.
D. Why not gut the 1,100 page bill and simply buy uninsured legal U.S. citizens insurance through private companies, or through state
run programs like COBRA? It would save a lot of money release sites and keep government out of our personal lives.
Rep. Larsen, that's the answer to the real question: Four good reasons that your health bill is not acceptable.
